Why the Packers Will Beat the Bears and Why They Might Not

Limited by the rebuilt line, the Packers played a safe game offensively, managing just 260 total yards but Rodgers connected on 18 of 26 passes for 179 yards and the four scores for a passer rating of 128.0.

As was the case two weeks earlier in Tampa, the Bears offense committed three turnovers in the first half. On Thursday night, every Bear and every Packer was on his feet.

Montgomery did much of the heavy lifting initially (five carries, 28 yards) and Rodgers got the ball out quickly with short drops and decisive throws, including a 12-yarder across the middle to Randall Cobb and a 26-yard catch-and-run by tight end Martellus Bennett. Couple that with the return of guard Kyle Long, who missed 10 months as he recovered from ankle surgery, and the Bears' interior offensive line is paving the way for the running game.

Prior to the 2017 NFL season, Jordy Nelson was ranked the 48th best player in the NFL according to NFL.com. From 2013-2016, Nelson had over 4000 yards receiving and 35 touchdowns.

Most weeks, there are a lot of factors that could decide the outcome, but this week against Chicago, it will probably be decided by the play of the Green Bay offensive line.

"Just No. 1 thing we obviously have to fix is the turnovers, because I'm not giving our team a chance when you turn the ball over like that", Glennon said.

The Bears responded as Glennon completed 6 of 7 passes for 72 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown to Kendall Wright, cutting the deficit to 21-7 with:08 remaining in the half. In the second half, Adams was severely injured after taking a huge hit from a Bears' defender. They would go on a 13 play drive that ate up 7:43 worth of clock.

The scariest injury was to Adams, who took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan that sent Adams immediately to the hospital to be evaluated for head and neck injuries and a possible concussion. He departed the contest after carrying four times for 11 yards and catching one pass for two yards. Some-perhaps many-consider it stubborn: because Trubisky showed enough in the preseason, and Glennon has shown so little through three games, the rookie must take over if Chicago is to win now.

Mike McCarthy was asked about the desertion after the game and stated bluntly, "It's an internal matter that we will keep internal and work through that".

Davante Adams was down Thursday night, and he wasn't alone in Green Bay.
