KBTX will air Hand in Hand benefit concert Tuesday at 7 pm


George Strait will do a live performance at the end of the show from San Antonio, Texas at the Majestic Theatre which he announced August 28.

A star-studded fund-raiser Tuesday night raised more than $14 million for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Throughout the show, the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, Uzo Aduba, Nicki Minaj, Jon Stewart, Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon, and many, many more answered phones to take donations from callers.

Online donations are also accepted at handinhand2017.com. "With something in the disease-related community, you go: 'I hope this helps.' This one, you go: 'Oh, it's going to help'".

The benefit is a one hour special which was co-organized by Scooter Braun and Houston based rapped Bun B.

The event is sponsored by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Verizon, Apple, Albertsons Companies Foundation, Merck and Paypal and is a program of Comic Relief, Inc. For numerous stars, the storms hit close to home. I've been on the road.

As a Houston native, Beyoncé was personally touched by Hurricane Harvey.

"Helpless - helpless is an understatement", Fonsi added of being on tour and unable to be with his family.

"We've come together today to love on the people that have been devastated by the hurricanes". Proceeds will benefit Rebuild Texas Fund, Feeding Texas, Feeding Florida, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and United Way of Greater Houston.
