Why is Apple being compelled to take so much money from you guys in exchange for a portable computing device? Apple might bid adieu to fingerprint scanner this time.
Apple has partnered with several Korean manufacturers that will deliver the components necessary to have all the functionalities taking place in the iPhone 8. So the entire things will be changed on the display while you connect your phone with the charger.
It is all but confirmed that the iPhone 8 is going to have OLED display with an nearly bezel-less design. Someone at Apple (presumably) leaked out the company's forthcoming iOS 11 GM code. According to his digging, there are three names in what's believed to be the iOS 11 final firmware, which emerged over the past days. Apple is apparently in an urgent need to find another display supplier besides Samsung. Tech giants including Samsung, Nokia, Google and OnePlus use OLED display in their devices as the advantage OLED enjoys over LCD displays is that it is thinner, lighter, brighter, has better contrast and consumes less energy.
A number of sources in the supply chain have warned that there may be shortages early on. Apple stock marched steadily downward during regular trading hours Friday as investors started to worry that the special edition iPhone analysts have been bragging about all year long might let them down.
The upcoming iPhone is expected to sport an OLED edge-to-edge screen.
All of these are collectively responsible for exponentially increasing the price of the phone.
Apple looks to be skipping the "iPhone 7s" entirely.
Apple is expected to announce a major iPhone redesign Tuesday. Last year's 7 line, which followed the 6s models, featured larger lenses and a dual lens on the larger model but retained the familiar aluminum body that has since spawned similar Android devices. So while there may be other reasons as well, the high cost of the OLED panel is no doubt one of the main reasons why the iPhone 8 could be as expensive as the rumors suggest.
It seems as if Apple's new phone will not be named in a chronological order.
In addition to the new naming convention for the 10th anniversary iPhone X, the report also discovered what appears to be the official brand name for the widely rumored face-based security feature: "Face ID" (possibly replacing Touch ID as a means to unlock the iPhone).
We understand that the iPhone 8 will come with 3GB of RAM, like the iPhone 7 Plus.
