And in this new TV spot, that team has gotten a catchy name: Revengers.
During last night's NFL Season Opener (in which the Kansas City Chiefs stunned the reigning champs at home), Disney served up an extensive peak at their upcoming release, Thor: Ragnarok, the third installment in the mythical Norse god standalone films. That's why we got super excited when we caught word the successful film series may be featuring its first LGBT character. And I could not be more thrilled about the addition of two powerful women in the form of Tessa Thompson's heroic Valkyrie and Cate Blanchett's Hela, who is poised to be the first female major MCU villain. As if Hulk hurling himself into Surtur's mouth like someone tossing a grape to eat it wasn't already a striking visual. Hulk's reputation on Sakaar obviously tells us he that he was otherwise unavailable to give an assist to either of the teams. Together, they must escape the planet and defeat Hela to restore peace to Asgard.
Again, the film is really embracing the out of the world vibe. "Thor: Ragnarok" was directed by Taika Waititi, working from a story written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. And by the looks of things, Waititi gave it just that.
Comic fans still have a ways to go before Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters, but the good news is, Marvel isn't skimping on the promo material and it's definitely helping us pass the time while we wait for November!
Thor: Ragnarok, also starring Idris Elba, Karl Urban and Anthony Hopkins, arrives in Australia on October 26 and will open in the US on November 3.
