Jason Miller, now one of Trump's in-house surrogates at the network, accused Harris of "hysteria" for her dogged line of questioning during Tuesday's testimony from Attorney General Jeff Sessions before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., has only been in the Senate for a few months, but she's already showing her disrespect for the institution - and and lack of just normal human courtesy - and her inflated sense of self-importance.
Harris: Sir, I'm just asking you about the DOJ policy you referred to. It was the second time in a week Harris had been shut down by the Republican senators.
"But he wasn't hysterical and she was". "I don't understand that".
Kamala Harris has served as freshman senator for only six months, but she's not wasting time sitting in the shadows. Kamala Harris will be our guest this morning and I can't wait to talk to her about that and also about the questions she's trying to ask in the middle of being told that she's rude by a lot of rude, white older men.
The dude's explanation is a masterwork of dumbnuts dudeness.
"From my perspective - my, I would say, objective perspective - I mean it was ... it didn't seem like there was any effort to try to get to a real question or get to the bottom of it", Miller said. "Calling her hysterical is probably a little gendered thing to say". I don't think Senator Wyden was really trying to get to the bottom of answers either.
While delivering a steady stream of questions to Sessions about the Trump administration colluding with Russia, Harris was instructed by McCain - who can be heard off camera - to let Sessions answer the question. The phrase, "just give me a yes or no answer", is so often heard it ought to be engraved on the Capitol portico. So her rapid-fire shots aimed at Sessions may not be a surprise for someone with a background that involved questioning witnesses.
POWERS: "But how was that hysterical?"
"She was trying to shout down Attorney General Sessions and I thought it was way out of bounds", Miller replied. "I think it's honestly going to backfire on Republicans if they keep it up".
GLORIA BORGER: You're being hysterical.
MILLER: You didn't view it as her talking over top of him? You might not like the questions she was asking.
And it won't dissuade Powers from shooting down their toxic commentary.
