E3 2017: Ubisoft Properly Reveals Assassin's Creed: Origins

Assassin's Creed: Origins will be set in Egypt and will be released on October 27 in multiple packages.

So pop these times into your diary and make sure you return to read all the big gaming news as it's revealed on the day.

A retailer has apparently leaked a pre-order card for Assassin's Creed: Origins, which confirms several rumored details about the sequel.

Origins is the first game in the Assassin's Creed franchise since 2015, with the once-annualised series taking a break after mediocre sales of Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

Assassin's Creed Origins is set in Egypt, and boasts a number of new gameplay features, including the ability to call on an Eagle to scope out surroundings.

Problem is, that mag isn't out yet and Ubisoft are unlikely to reveal Assassin's Creed until late Monday during their E3 2017 Press Conference in Los Angeles.

The minimap and other aspects of the Heads up Display or HUD have also undergone transformation vis-à-vis the earlier games in the Assassin's Creed franchise. Putting all the negativity aside, Assassin's Creed: Origins looks like a fresh direction for the series and actually looks like fun.

Creative Director Jean Guesdon compared Ba Yek to an "ancient sheriff" in a struggle against darkness and said the game would include many new RPG elements.

According to the presentation, the game will take players through deserts, lush oases, and across the Mediterranean Sea to the tombs of Giza. Explore deep progression mechanics and challenge your skills against unique and powerful bosses. A revamped narrative experience allows total freedom for players to choose and complete quests at their own pace, each telling an intense and emotional story full of colorful characters and meaningful objectives. Stay tuned for more on Origins, Xbox One X, and E3 2017.
