Sonic Mania is developed by Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games in collaboration with Sonic Team.
After numerous delays, Sonic Mania will finally be released this summer.
We'll find out on August 15 when Sonic Mania releases on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. As we previously reported, Sonic Mania will have new levels and remixed versions of classic stages. Get ready for the ultimate celebration of past and future. Harness Sonic's new drop dash, Tails' flight, and Knuckles' climbing abilities to overcome the evil Dr. Eggman's robots.
Sonic Mania is one of two upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog games coming from SEGA in 2017, and arguably the one that retro gaming fans and those who grew up with Sonic are looking forward to the most. Play as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles as you race through all-new Zones and fully re-imagined classics, each filled with exciting surprises and powerful bosses. The company officially revealed the information by way of a new trailer which also announced that digital pre-orders for the title are available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
If it wasn't patently obvious already that Sonic Mania is a love-letter (really more of a "please-take-me-back" letter) to fans of the blue-blur, this trailer hammered the point home.
"Sonic Mania" is now in production for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and is tentatively scheduled to be released on August 15, 2017.
